When choosing savings products, it is important to distinguish between promotional and standard interest rates. Key factors include amount caps and the duration of the preferential terms.

Time-limited and capped promotions

Many banks offer higher interest rates for a specific period. For instance, Credit Agricole’s Rachunek Oszczędzam Plus provides a promotional rate of 6.5% until 30 November 2026. This promotion applies to an amount of PLN 100,000 and lasts for 100 days.

Pekao uses a similar mechanism with Konto Oszczędnościowe (Promocja Nowe Środki). The promotional rate is 5.7% for amounts up to PLN 100,000 for a period of 92 days, valid until 22 October 2026.

How interest rates change

Once a promotional period ends, the rate typically drops to the standard level. For Credit Agricole — Rachunek Oszczędzam Plus, the standard rate is 0.1%. In Pekao — Konto Oszczędnościowe (Promocja Nowe Środki), the standard rate is 3%.

Some products change their rate during the term. BNP Paribas — Lokata Dynamiczny Zysk offers a promotional rate of 8% for PLN 50,000, but this rate is applied in the last 4. month of the deposit term.

Standard rates without promotions

There are also offers with a fixed nature. Erste provides the Lokata Biznes na Start with a standard rate of 4.5%. In this case, the rate applies to an amount of PLN 200,000 for a period of 3 months.
