mBank customers can now use a new feature in their mobile application. The service enables the automation of recurring bills and subscriptions.

Automating bills via BLIK

According to PRNews.pl, mBank has launched the BLIK Recurring Payments service. This feature allows for the automatic settlement of regular expenses, such as telecommunications services, streaming platform subscriptions, or insurance policies.

To use this service, a customer selects the BLIK Recurring Payments option during a purchase and confirms it within the mBank mobile app. Once consent is granted, subsequent charges are processed either automatically or after manual confirmation in the app.

What it means for customers

The new functionality is designed to assist with managing daily finances and payment deadlines. The bank provides push notifications in the mobile app for every transaction, whether it is completed automatically or requires user approval.

Users can also maintain oversight of their spending. The application provides a list of active subscriptions, a history of completed transactions, and the ability to cancel consent for future withdrawals.

What to check before deciding

It is important to note that withdrawing consent for payments within the mBank app only stops the automatic transfer of funds. It does not result in the termination of the underlying contract with the service provider.

Before enabling the service, customers should verify the list of active subscriptions and ensure they understand how to manage or cancel individual payment consents.
